Our foremost aim is to implement three-dimensional marketing for our clients. This is an objective that we try to achieve as sustainably as possible. And that begins at home.
The atelier damböck corporate design has been green since 1978, as has the company's philosophy. In February 2011, the Munich-based office deservedly became one of the first German trade fair construction companies to be awarded the Green Globe Certificate - the first globally recognised seal for sustainable corporate management and working processes.
We have set ourselves the aim of reconciling environmental protection, creative design and high-end exhibition construction.
Carbon footprint
The basis for all kinds of improvement in terms of climate protection is a company's carbon footprint. This is calculated according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol), and represents a starting-point from which to define climate protection strategies and activities for achieving the climate protection aims set out in those strategies. Our own objective is a growth-adjusted relative reduction of our CO2 emissions of 30% within 10 years.
CO2 emissions
By optimising our logistical processes and our own workshops, which can be monitored directly in terms of environmental protection, we actively save CO2. Our regional suppliers and partners at trade fair venues also help to reduce CO2.
Energy industry
When we designed our company building in 2000, we kept in mind the sustainable use of energy:
- Workplaces with the maximum possible natural daylight
- Centrally controlled lighting in the company building
- 90% of the heat energy we require is provided by pellet heating fuelled by the pellets we make ourselves out of waste wood (wood chip machine)
2011 will see a new development to top all of that:
The solar panel complex on the roof of our buildings is one of the region's biggest non-commercial solar plants and has an output of approximately 370 kWp.
Materials
We advise our clients actively on the use of:
- Environmentally neutral materials such as water-based paints
- High-grade materials with a long lifespan
- Modular materials such as laminate flooring
- Materials that can be reused such as old wall elements that are converted into transport crates
In the future we will be using more:
- Materials produced ecologically
- New materials made from renewable sources
Water management
Our holding tanks collect rainwater, which is used to irrigate our lawns and plants, and also to clean our vehicle fleet. Harmful substances such as oil remnants are filtered off so that they do not find their way into the sewage system or groundwater. All our toilets have flush stop buttons.
Waste management
We aim to pursue and develop strategies for consistent waste avoidance such as:
- Everyday office work: saving and recycling, e.g. paper.
- Production: responsible handling and recycling of raw materials.
- Planning exhibition stands: modular approach enables individual building elements to be used more often.
- Transport: strong, reusable packaging crates protect components against damage and reduce the amount of rubbish in exhibition halls.
- Waste wood from the joinery is converted into pellets in our wood chip machine.
- Consistent recycling of all materials used in exhibition construction.
An ecological upgrade
We are making another small contribution to general ecological improvement with a water biotope measuring 100 sq m on our company premises.
www.greenstands.de - our initiative for climate-neutral exhibition stands and events
Our climate-neutral exhibition stand solutions allow us to convince our clients that design and environmental protection are not mutually incompatible. Making exhibition structures more sustainable is not just a question of thinking about isolated measures here and there. Our approach is to examine all of the stages of the entire value-added chain, and from there to derive customised solutions for our clients that give their exhibition appearance a better overall ecological balance.
